How to Use the Round Flower Silicone Soap Mold & Bath Bomb Combo

Azlok's Round Flower Shape Silicone Mold and Aluminium Bath Bomb Mold combo is a two-in-one kit for making handmade soaps, bath bombs, sugar scrubs and small wax melts at home. The 6-cavity silicone flower mold pops out finished bars cleanly, while the 2-inch aluminium sphere mold presses neat, round bath bombs. It is priced at ₹399 and comes in 1, 2 or 5 combo packs.

What you can make with this combo

Both molds are food-grade friendly in shape but meant for cosmetic and craft use. Here is what makers reach for them most often:

  • Melt-and-pour soaps — the flower cavities give pretty, gift-ready bars.
  • Cold-process or hot-process soap — silicone releases hardened bars without sticking.
  • Bath bombs — the aluminium sphere shapes classic round bombs.
  • Sugar and salt scrubs — set solid scrub bars in the flower mold.
  • Wax melts and small candles — the silicone handles warm wax well.

How to use the silicone flower mold

  1. Wipe the mold clean and dry. Silicone rarely needs greasing, but a light spray helps with sticky recipes.
  2. Melt your soap base or pour your prepared batter into each cavity, tapping gently to remove air bubbles.
  3. Spritz the top with a little isopropyl alcohol if you are using melt-and-pour, to clear surface bubbles.
  4. Let it set fully — melt-and-pour needs a few hours, cold-process needs 24–48 hours.
  5. Flex the mold and push from the base to release each bar. Silicone makes this easy without cracking edges.

How to use the aluminium bath bomb mold

  1. Mix your dry ingredients (baking soda, citric acid, and any additions) and lightly mist with a binding liquid until the mixture just holds together.
  2. Overfill both halves of the 2-inch aluminium sphere so it is slightly heaped.
  3. Press the two halves firmly together, then twist and lift off the top half.
  4. Gently tap and slide the bomb out onto a soft cloth. Let it dry for several hours to a full day before packing.

Tips and safety notes

  • When working with lye (caustic soda) for cold-process soap, wear gloves and eye protection, work in a ventilated area, and keep children and pets away.
  • Citric acid used in bath bombs is mild but can irritate eyes — avoid inhaling the powder while mixing.
  • Add fragrance and essential oils sparingly and follow safe skin-use dilution guidance. Patch-test finished products before regular use.
  • Do not use these molds for baking food or in a microwave with metal parts. Keep the aluminium mold away from soap batter containing wet lye, which can react with the metal.
  • Label homemade products clearly and never pour raw soap batter down drains.

Buying and storage

The silicone flower mold measures about 17 x 25 cm and the aluminium sphere makes a 2-inch bomb. Choose the 1-pack for a first try, or the 2- and 5-pack combos if you make in batches or run a small home business. Wash both molds with warm water and mild soap after each use, dry them completely, and store flat away from sharp objects and direct sunlight. Silicone lasts for many uses when handled gently. Do note that Azlok ships whichever soap mold colour is in stock, since colours can vary batch to batch.

FAQ

How many bars does the flower mold make at once?

The silicone mold has 6 cavities, so you get 6 flower-shaped bars in a single pour.

Do I need to grease the silicone mold?

Usually no. Silicone releases most soap and scrub bars cleanly. A light spray of oil helps only with very sticky recipes.

What size bath bomb does the aluminium mold make?

It produces a standard 2-inch round bath bomb, the common gift-shop size.

Can I use the same molds for candles or wax melts?

Yes, the silicone mold works well for warm wax. Let wax cool fully before releasing, and keep one mold set aside for wax so fragrances don't mix.

Are these molds dishwasher safe?

Silicone tolerates a dishwasher, but hand-washing both molds with warm, soapy water and drying them fully is gentler and extends their life.
