Silicone Soap Mould Combo Pack: A Beginner's Guide to Better Bars

Azlok's 6 Cavity Rectangle + 4 Cavity Circle, Square, Oval & Heart silicone soap mould combo pack is a flexible, easy-release set that lets you cast soaps in several classic shapes at once. Made from premium silicone, it suits melt-and-pour beginners as well as seasoned makers, and the same molds also work for candles, sugar scrubs and resin.

What you get in the combo pack

The set combines two moulds so you can make ten bars in a single batch. Here is the breakdown:

  • 6-cavity rectangle mould — overall size 19 x 20 x 2.5 cm. Each finished rectangle bar measures about 8 x 5.5 x 2.4 cm and weighs roughly 80–90 gm.
  • 4-cavity mixed shapes mould — overall size 16 x 3 x 17 cm, with circle, square, oval and heart cavities. Each bar weighs about 80–100 gm.

The classic rectangles are practical for everyday bathing bars, while the heart and oval shapes are lovely for gifting, wedding favours and festive hampers. Colour of the mould depends on stock; any available colour is dispatched.

What you can make

Silicone is heat tolerant and non-stick, which makes it far more forgiving than rigid plastic. Common uses include:

  • Melt-and-pour soap — the easiest starting point; melt the base, add colour and fragrance, pour and set.
  • Cold-process soap — the flexible walls make unmoulding cured bars simple.
  • Candles — pour cooled wax with a fixed wick for shaped decorative candles.
  • Sugar or salt scrub bars and resin coasters or trinkets for craft projects.

How to use the mould

  1. Wash and dry the mould before first use.
  2. Prepare your soap base — for melt-and-pour, cut it into cubes and melt gently in a microwave or double boiler.
  3. Stir in skin-safe colour and fragrance once slightly cooled, then spray the surface with a little isopropyl alcohol to pop air bubbles.
  4. Pour into the cavities, filling evenly. Tap the mould lightly on the counter to release trapped air.
  5. Let the bars set fully — melt-and-pour usually firms up in a few hours at room temperature or faster in the fridge. Cold-process soap needs its full cure time before unmoulding.
  6. Flex the silicone and gently push from the base to release each bar cleanly.

Tips and safety notes

  • Work in a ventilated space when handling fragrance oils and lye. If you are doing cold-process soap, wear gloves and eye protection while mixing lye.
  • Use only cosmetic-grade colours and fragrances meant for soap — food colours can bleed or fade.
  • Do not overheat the base; scorched soap loses clarity and smell.
  • Silicone tolerates warm wax and soap, but keep it away from direct flame.
  • Let candles and soaps cool undisturbed. Rushing the release can dent or tear soft bars.

Cleaning and storage

Wash the mould with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry it completely before storing flat. Avoid sharp knives inside the cavities, which can nick the silicone. Store away from dust and direct sunlight so the material stays supple. With basic care, a good silicone mould lasts for many batches.

Buying tips

If you plan to sell at markets or make regular gift batches, the 2 Combo Pack option doubles your output per session and cuts down on waiting between pours. Beginners usually find one combo pack plenty to learn on. You can find this combo pack on Azlok along with soap bases, fragrance oils and colours to complete your kit.

FAQ

How many soaps can I make at once?

Ten bars per batch — six rectangles plus four shaped bars (circle, square, oval and heart). Each bar weighs roughly 80–100 gm.

Is this mould only for soap?

No. The silicone is versatile enough for candles, sugar scrub bars and resin crafts too, as long as you use materials suited to each.

Do I need to grease the mould?

For melt-and-pour and cold-process soap, silicone releases naturally and greasing is usually unnecessary. For candles or resin, follow the guidance for that specific material.

How do I remove soap without breaking it?

Let the bar set fully, then flex the outer walls and push gently from underneath. Chilling briefly can help firm bars release more cleanly.

What colour mould will I receive?

Colour depends on current stock and any available colour is dispatched. The shape, cavity count and dimensions remain the same regardless of colour.
