The price of boric acid depends on grade, purity, form and pack size. Technical grade for carrom boards, flux and ceramics is cheaper than IP, lab or plating grades, which need tighter testing. Powder and granules can also be priced differently. Small packs cost more per kg because packing and handling are spread over less material, and GST and freight are added on top. A 100 g pack is plenty for one home carrom board. Clubs and workshops do better with 600 g or around 1 kg. Regular industrial users should ask for bulk rates.
