About Oxalic acid: specifications, safety and uses →Oxalic acid price today →
Kanpur has been a leather and tannery town for well over a century, and its small leather goods units still rely on process and finishing chemicals. Textile workshops, students at IIT Kanpur and other colleges, and cleaning contractors working across the city are regular users as well. Shipping from Shamli, in the same state, a Kanpur parcel usually takes about 3 days. You can pay on delivery if that's easier.
How Oxalic acid is used in Kanpur
- Leather processing: Tanneries use oxalic acid to bleach and clear iron stains from hides and leather, giving a lighter, more even colour before dyeing and finishing.
- Textile mills: Textile processors use oxalic acid to strip iron and rust stains from fabric and to neutralise alkaline residue after bleaching, so whites come out clean.
- Metal and engineering workshops: Metal finishers use oxalic acid solutions to remove rust and scale from iron and steel parts and in anodising baths for aluminium.
- Cleaning and facility services: Cleaning teams use diluted oxalic acid to remove rust marks and hard-water stains from tiles, marble, sinks and toilets where ordinary cleaners fail.
