Rain Forest Fragrance Oil: A Fresh, Green Scent for Candles and Soaps

Rain Forest Fragrance Oil is a cosmetic-grade scent oil designed for candle and soap making, bath bombs, scrubs and other DIY body-care projects. It opens fresh and citrusy, softens into fruit and florals, and settles on a warm musk-and-wood base, making it a versatile choice when you want a layered, inviting aroma rather than a single-note fragrance.

What Rain Forest Fragrance Oil Smells Like

This is a blended fragrance oil, so the scent unfolds in stages the way a good perfume does. Azlok describes it with three tiers of notes:

  • Top notes: Cotton flower, lemon and coconut — the bright, fresh first impression.
  • Heart notes: Apple, ylang-ylang and tuberose — a fruity-floral middle that carries the scent.
  • Base notes: Musk, cedar and amber — the warm, grounding finish that lingers.

The oil itself is a light yellow to yellow liquid. Because it leans fresh and green up top with a comforting woody drydown, it suits home fragrance, everyday soaps and body products equally well.

What You Can Make With It

Rain Forest Fragrance Oil is formulated for a wide range of maker projects:

  • Scented candles — soy, beeswax, paraffin or blends
  • Cold-process and melt-and-pour soaps
  • Bath bombs and bath salts
  • Body and facial scrubs
  • Creams and lotions
  • Lip balms and lipsticks
  • Perfume oils and roll-ons

How to Use It

Fragrance load depends on what you are making, so always start small and test a batch before scaling up.

  • Candles: Typically 6–10% of wax weight. Add the oil once the melted wax has cooled to the temperature recommended by your wax supplier (often around 60–70°C), then stir gently for a couple of minutes so it binds evenly.
  • Melt-and-pour soap: Around 1.5–3% of the soap base weight, added when the base is fully melted and slightly cooled.
  • Cold-process soap: Follow your recipe's fragrance calculator; some floral notes can accelerate trace, so soap at a cooler temperature and have your mould ready.
  • Bath bombs and scrubs: A few drops per batch is usually enough — this oil is concentrated.
  • Perfume oils: Dilute in a carrier such as fractionated coconut oil and rest the blend for a few days so the notes mellow.

Because it is a fragrance oil and not an essential oil, it is meant for scenting products, not for internal use or aromatherapy claims.

Safety Notes You Should Know

Fragrance oils are potent and need sensible handling:

  • Do not apply the neat oil directly to skin — always use it within a finished, diluted product and stay within recommended usage rates.
  • Patch-test any leave-on product (balms, creams, perfume oils) on a small area before regular use.
  • Do not ingest. Keep away from children and pets.
  • Keep it away from open flames and heat until it is properly blended into your wax.
  • Work in a ventilated space and wipe up spills promptly.
  • Request the MSDS and allergen information from the seller if you are formulating products for sale, so your labelling meets requirements.

Buying and Storing

Azlok stocks Rain Forest Fragrance Oil from 100 g right up to 20 kg, so you can buy a small bottle to sample and larger packs once a recipe works for you. The 100 g size is priced at ₹359, which makes it easy to trial before committing to bulk. It is made in India and carries a shelf life of about two years.

To keep the scent true for as long as possible, store the bottle tightly capped in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Fragrance oils can darken or weaken if left open or stored warm, so decant only what you need for a batch and reseal quickly.

FAQ

Is Rain Forest Fragrance Oil a natural essential oil?

No. It is a blended fragrance oil made for scenting candles, soaps and body products. It is not a single-plant essential oil and is not intended for aromatherapy or internal use.

How much should I add to candles?

A common range is 6–10% of the wax weight, added at the temperature your wax recommends. Test one candle first and adjust based on how strong the scent throw is.

Can I use it on my skin?

Only within a finished, correctly diluted product such as a soap, lotion, balm or perfume oil, and after a patch test. Never apply the undiluted oil directly to skin.

What colour is the oil?

It is a liquid that ranges from light yellow to yellow. In pale soap bases or candle wax it may add a slight tint, so factor that into your colour plans.

How long does it last?

The shelf life is around two years when stored in a cool, dry place with the cap tightly closed and away from sunlight and heat.
